Ryann “Ry” Mason, BS RN (she/they) is a seasoned disability advocate, multi-specialty registered nurse, proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community, keynote speaker, model, professional dancer, sexuality educator, and self-proclaimed loudmouth southern belle. With over 16 years experience in healthcare (and over 32 as a patient) Ry has worked tirelessly to end the stigma against disabled healthcare providers and has been sharing her story on social media for nearly a decade. Ry’s no nonsense, wide open attitude toward life makes her content not only educational, but approachable for those from all walks of life. Whether working in the hospital setting as a nurse on wheels, dancing with her dance company, Infinite Flow Dance, or exploring the deserts of SoCal with her family, there’s never a dull moment (or lack of color) if Ry’s around. 

Ry has achieved remarkable milestones, including founding and creating "Chronically Ry" and serving as Ms. Wheelchair Virginia in both 2020 and 2021. She was honored with the prestigious "Lifetime Achievement Award" in 2021 by the Ms. Wheelchair America Foundation for her impactful advocacy and contributions to the disability community. With a 16-year career in healthcare—nearly a decade as a practicing Registered Nurse—Ry continues to make a difference through her dedicated work.

Currently, Ry is a member of Infinite Flow Dance, a professional dance company that highlights the talent of disabled dancers. She is employed as an Acute Care Inpatient Registered Nurse Case Manager at UC San Diego Hillcrest Medical Center, specializing in cardiac care. Beyond her professional endeavors, Ry is also a devoted stepmom to Koa, her 10-year-old human child, and Steven, their 12-foot-tall skeleton brother, adding a touch of humor and warmth to her busy life.

Ry has been rolling on Spinergy wheels for almost five years now! Her go-to setup includes 25” LX wheels with Flex-Rim push rims and her signature rainbow spokes. These wheels keep her moving, whether she’s pushing down the hospital halls, dancing her heart out on stage, or exploring the outdoors with her family.
