Claire Raymond
Claire, also known as @livingwithclaireity on Instagram, is a disability advocate from Southern California. Born with Lipomyelomeningocele, which led to Tethered Spinal Cord Syndrome, Claire has undergone over 13 spinal surgeries to manage her condition. In 2019, she became a full-time, ambulatory wheelchair user, a transition she describes as life-changing. After years of being bedbound, Claire now embraces the independence her wheelchair provides, allowing her to explore life with newfound freedom.
Her sarcasm and honesty have resonated with many, leading to viral content on social media. Claire has had incredible opportunities, including being a part of the Disney Creator’s Lab, where she was mentored by Disney and gained invaluable insight into online creation. She has also been featured on Good Morning America, NowThis, and even performed as a dancer on Facebook’s series Dance With Nia.
In addition to being a content creator, Claire is a college student working on transferring into a bachelor’s program in psychology. She and her fiancée, LuLu, are also launching their podcast Wheelie Queer, which has grown into a monthly meetup in Orange County, CA, for the LGBTQ+ and disabled communities. Claire is also a proud ambassador for Triumph, an organization that supports individuals who are newly injured.
Claire has been a valued member of the Spinergy team for some time and loves the quality and performance of our wheels. Her favorite is the TC Max handrims, which provide her with greater control and comfort—especially when tackling inclines or rolling in the rain.
